Every day, families write to us for help. We need doctors, teachers, trainers and field volunteers in every city — and most of all, lawyers who can give free legal help to people who cannot pay for it.

Who we are
Built by professionals from our own community, accountable from the first rupee
PHWO was established by ten professionals from our own community — advocates, doctors, an engineer, business owners and a freelancer — under a written constitution and a named governing body, with registration under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance in progress.
Our members have been helping families in need from their own resources. PHWO exists to organise that help, to verify every request, and to reach far more people than any of us could alone. We publish figures only once they are verified, and we set out our plans in public so that you can hold us to them.

Eight aims, taken directly from our constitution
Direct assistance to verified individuals is under way. Each programme below is set out in our constitution and opens in stages as it is staffed.
- Education & Literacy Supporting deserving students, strengthening schools that already exist, and tackling the practical barriers that push girls out of the classroom. In preparation
- Health & Medical Care Help with the cost of treatment, care for mothers and newborns, support for long-term illness, free medical camps and prevention — for families across Pakistan who cannot afford care. In preparation
- Women Empowerment Training tied to actual income: a skill, a starter asset, a bank account in her own name, and a route to a market that will pay for it. In preparation
- Digital & Freelancing Skills Digital literacy, freelancing and remote work, so young people and women across Pakistan can earn a living without having to leave home to do it. In preparation
- Vocational Training & Youth Development Technical and trade training for young people, shaped by what local employers and local markets actually hire and pay for. In preparation
- Environment & Renewable Energy Tree plantation, cleanliness drives, and solar power for schools and clinics, planned around who maintains it in year five. In preparation
- Community Development & Poverty Alleviation Welfare and poverty alleviation work identified together with the households concerned, rather than decided on their behalf. In preparation
- Humanitarian & Emergency Relief Relief, food and clean water when floods and other emergencies strike, and preparation with households well before they do. In preparation
How we work
Three principles behind everything we do
- Listen before deciding
- Our members and volunteers identify needs directly with the communities we serve, rather than arriving with a plan already written for them.
- Work through institutions
- Government departments, schools, healthcare professionals and lawful partners, so that what we do outlasts a single activity and does not run parallel to what already exists.
- Account for everything
- Proper books of accounts from the first rupee, donations counted only once verified, and reporting on what was spent and what changed.
How giving works
Every donation is verified and receipted
Every donation is checked against our bank and wallet records before it is counted, so every figure we publish is real.
- You choose an amount and a cause. Nothing is charged on this website. You receive our account details by email.
- You pay from your own banking or wallet app and tell us, attaching the transaction reference.
- We match it against our bank statement. Each one is checked individually.
- Only then does it count towards any figure we publish, and a numbered receipt is issued to you automatically.
At least 75% of every general or cause donation goes directly to people and programmes; up to 25% meets running costs such as verification and transport. Zakat and Sadaqah go 100% to people in need. Where your money goes
Our Mission
To advance education, health, skills and dignity for underprivileged communities across Pakistan, through transparent, non-political and non-sectarian welfare work carried out with, not for, the people we serve.
PHWO exists to close the distance between need and response. Across Pakistan, and acutely in interior Sindh, families live within reach of the things that would change their circumstances and still cannot get to them: a child kept out of school, a doctor an hour away, a mother with a skill she can sell but no market to sell it in, a young person who could earn without leaving home if someone showed them how. Our role is to organise the people, the funds and the partnerships that close that distance, and to report honestly on what we manage to do.
Where we work, and where we begin
Our aims are national. The problems we have set out to work on are not particular to one district, and neither is our intention. Our constitution provides for extending our programmes to other districts and provinces in stages, with the necessary approvals.
Our registered office is in Larkana for a straightforward reason: it is where our members live, and it is where the people who founded this organisation can be found and held to account by their own neighbours. An organisation that starts everywhere usually starts nowhere.
It is also a serious place to start. Interior Sindh sits below national averages on school enrolment, female literacy and access to qualified healthcare, and floods and seasonal emergencies have tested families here repeatedly. Yet the region has schools, colleges, doctors, lawyers, engineers and a large young population that wants to work. What has been missing is not willingness. It is an organisation that can hold funds transparently, coordinate volunteers, work formally with government departments, and keep proper records.
So: registered in Larkana, working for all of Pakistan, and supported by donors in Pakistan and around the world. At every stage we will say plainly where we actually operate, rather than where we hope to.
